Absinthe Makes The Heart Grow Founder

I decided that its about time that I let my love........ more like obsession of Bram Stoker's Dracula and Winona Ryder inspire a piece of my artwork. I have been a huge fan of Winona's since as far as I could remember and Bram Stoker's Dracula is my all time fave vampire novel (the one that started all things vampire.. the one that started it all) and fave vampire movie. I decided to draw a picture I came across that was used as a publicity shot for the movie. It is from one of my favorite scenes. The Absinthe drinking scene. I also wanted to draw this photo because it reminds me of the dress Mina wears in this scene that I think is just amazing on her. I fell in love with this dress so much I will be getting married this fall in a replica of it thanks to my fiance' who had it made for me. Now if that isnt love I don't know what is :). Our wedding theme is also going to be Love Never Dies. Also inspired from the movie.

What Nightmares Are Made Of......

Tim Burton makes the most amazing movies and art. He brings out all things dark and spooky that I find so much beauty in. Leaving me asking "Whats This?" with Jack or not feeling so alone to be "Strange and Unusual" with Lydia he has inspired me since I was a little girl. Everytime I hear he is creating or making something new I freak out with anticipation. I decided to pay tribute to him and show my admiration. I have completed a Tim Burton Portrait I like to call "What Nightmares are made of!" And in Nightmares I mean my dreams because he amazes me on so many levels.

Who said a little girl's dreams can't come true???!!!

Yesterday I met the one and only Elvira!!!!!!!

I told her about when I dressed up like her for Halloween when I was in 3rd grade and my Mom told me that the slit in the dress was not necessary ha ha. She got a kick out of that.

I also had the honor of giving her the portrait that I drew of her and she loved it!! She told me she has a "wall of fame" but since its of her she calls it her "wall of shame" ha ha.. She told me "This is turning out to be an art sort of day. I got a few others but this one is REALLY good!" I was so happy that she liked it that much!! And it was amazing to be able to give it to her in person!!

SINderella - Mistress of the Dark AKA Elvira :)

Well most of you know I am into a lot of dark creepy fun things. Growing up and to this day I have always admired Elvira the Mistress of the Dark. She was sexy, beautiful, funny, witty, sarcastic but stayed true to her dark creepy mysterious self!

One of my favorite quotes of hers is
"If this makes anyone in the audience feel sick, put your head between your knees and enjoy yourselves!" Elvira

I have ALWAYS wanted to meet her. And found out earlier this year that she plans on visiting my home town for a horror con and I was so excited I drew a little something up for her. I plan on framing it and giving it to her in person! I can not wait!

It is all finished and officially posted in the portraits section of the site!!

Enjoy My Darlings!

Nicole

Toxic - A New Color Pencil Piece!

I had been wanting to strengthen my colored pencil portrait drawing skills and was trying to think of a colorful character to practice on. Then it came to me...... I am a huge fan of actress Uma Thurman and a huge fan of the character Poison Ivy (I even dressed up as her a few years back for Halloween). And when Uma was casted to play Ivy I was nothing but ecstatic. And then I thought about how beautiful she looked in the role and not to mention the beautiful colors of her costume and hair...... and it inspired me to get my Prisma Colors out!

See the finished results HERE I call it "TOXIC" !!!!!!!!!

Christina Ricci Portrait

Christina Ricci has been one of my favorite actresses ever since I was a little girl. When I saw the Addams Family movie she stole my heart with her "Wanna Play A Game?"........ "Is There A God?" line! Later on I find out we have the same birthday!! Both born on February 12th!!! Only she was born just 1 year before I was! I have been hooked on her ever since.. she has grown up to be a beautiful curvy woman and an amazingly talented actress. And I love the fact that she finds challenging and daring roles to play and can really pull them off.. because of her I was inspired to do another art piece...... A portrait of her beautiful face in tribute to what I have looked up to all these years!

Check out the finished piece HERE!!!

The Lovely Kat Von D

As a tattooed female and artist I have a lot of admiration for the lovely Kat Von D. She inspired me so much I decided to draw a portrait of her.......
